Cookie Policy

1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Post Maze uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website, what each category is typically used for, which of those categories we actually use, and how you can control them through your browser. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle personal data more broadly. This policy intentionally does not describe the technical mechanics of how accounts are kept signed in — that is a security-sensitive implementation detail, not a cookie, and is not covered here.
2. What Are Cookies & Similar Technologies
A "cookie" is a small text file a website can ask your browser to store, which is then sent back to that website (or read by it) on later visits. Cookies are commonly grouped into categories based on what they are used for:
- Strictly necessary cookies: required for a site's basic operation, such as security or load-balancing cookies set by hosting infrastructure.
- Functional / preference cookies: remember non-essential choices, such as a selected language or display setting.
- Analytics / performance cookies: help a site operator understand aggregate usage patterns, such as which pages are visited most often.
- Advertising / targeting cookies: used to build a profile of your interests across sites, in order to show targeted advertising.
Related browser technologies — such as local storage and session storage — work similarly in that they let a site remember information on your device, but unlike cookies they are not automatically sent to a server with every request; a site must explicitly read them.
3. Cookies We Use
Post Maze's own servers do not set analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not sell, rent, or share browsing data with third parties for marketing or ad-targeting purposes. We do not build cross-site advertising profiles of visitors, and we do not use third-party tracking pixels or ad networks on the platform today.
Our underlying hosting and content-delivery infrastructure may set a small number of strictly necessary, short-lived cookies purely to route requests reliably and protect the site against abuse (for example, a load-balancer affinity cookie). These are a standard, non-optional part of operating any secured website and are never used to identify or track you across other sites.
4. Cookies Set by Sign-In Providers
If you choose to sign in or sign up using Google Sign-In, Google's own sign-in widget sets cookies on Google's domain (not ours) to manage that interaction and protect it against forgery — the same as on any site that offers Google Sign-In. Post Maze does not set, read, or control these cookies; they are governed entirely by Google's own cookie policy and Google's privacy practices. If you never use Google Sign-In on Post Maze, none of these cookies are set on your device as a result of visiting our site. Should we add further sign-in providers (e.g., LinkedIn) in the future, this section will be updated to reflect the cookies they set.
5. Cookies on Embedded or Linked Content
Pages that embed third-party content, such as an external map, video, or payment-provider widget (where applicable), may cause that third party to set its own cookies when the embedded content loads. We select such providers carefully, but we do not control the cookies they set on their own domains; please refer to that provider's own cookie or privacy policy for details.
6. Managing & Disabling Cookies
Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies, and let you block them entirely or only from specific sites, through their settings or preferences menu. You can also usually view and clear cookies and local site data from your browser's developer tools or privacy settings. Because we do not rely on analytics or advertising cookies, disabling cookies generally will not affect your ability to browse Post Maze's public pages; however, blocking cookies required by a third-party sign-in provider may prevent that specific sign-in method from working, in which case you can still register or sign in using your email and password instead.
7. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because Post Maze does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies in the first place, we do not currently respond differently to DNT signals — there is no tracking to disable. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy to describe how DNT signals are honored.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if the cookies or similar technologies used on the platform change — for example, if we introduce analytics, additional sign-in providers, or advertising in the future. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision, and material changes will be announced on the platform.
